Channel-based Strategies
Overview
Channel-based Strategies are designed to deliver an improved view of top-selling products within a channel for those products/sites where performance can vary between the channels.
By utilizing a channel-based strategy, retailers can maximize recommendation performance for those products that routinely perform better within specific channels.
Each channel-based strategy is based off the site-wide version (BrandTopSellers, CategoryTopSellers, TopSellers), but with channel-specific models. For example, BrandTopSellersInChannel uses the same algorithm as BrandTopSellers, using only the purchase history for the given channel.
Channel-based Strategies
If a site has products that perform differently in particular channels, channel-based strategies can give a better view of top-selling products than their sitewide counterparts.
These strategies return recommendations for a specified channel:
-
BrandTopSellersInChannel
-
CategoryTopSellersInChannel
-
TopSellersInChannel
Channel-based strategies can use default channels (Web, Phone, etc.) or custom channels set up by the client.
